Dr Zohaib
Welcome to the official website of the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar.
As the only public sector medical university in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, KMU has emerged as a hub of academic excellence, research innovation, and healthcare advancement. ORIC plays a pivotal role in this journey—bridging research, industry, and academia to translate ideas into impactful solutions for public health and beyond.
At ORIC-KMU, our vision is to foster a research ecosystem that promotes interdisciplinary collaboration, innovation, and commercialization rooted in ethical and evidence-based practices. We are committed to strengthening the university’s capacity in research governance, intellectual property (IP) protection, grant facilitation, and university-industry linkages, ensuring alignment with national priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Our office has successfully led initiatives such as evaluation of research proposals, implementation of IP policies, facilitation and implementation of NIHR-funded clinical trials, and coordination of capacity-building programs for faculty and students. We also house the Technology & Innovation Support Center (TISC) in collaboration with WIPO, IPO Pakistan, and HEC, empowering innovators to protect and commercialize their research outputs.
We believe that innovation thrives in a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and continuous learning.
